Sunniva and Jákup contacted us earlier this year to ask if we were gonna be in the Faroes on the date of their wedding. At that time we had not no definite plan for April and May, when we shortly after got another wedding inquiry for the Faroes for May the decision was made for us. This was going to be my first Faroese spring and I just could not wait. Iris is the one who takes care of the majority of the communication with our Faroese clients, and when she told me that Jákup had a lot of sheep which they would like to incorporate into the pre wedding shoot I got excited! We met Sunniva and Jákup in the village Toftir which is located opposite of their village Strendur, there we got pictures of them with their village in the background. This was also one of their wishes. With their wedding only one week away it was lovely to get to know this couple and spend a few hours with them. After a while in Toftir with Strendur in the background we did the 30 minute drive to Strendur, where Jákup has his sheep. The sheep are kept above the village and we got great views from there. You could see that Jákup was in his element taking care of the sheep and Sunniva with her red wellies on was a good helping hand for him. Getting the sheep to flock around Sunniva and Jákup was no problem at all as soon as Jákup had a bucket of food for them!

When the sheep had been fed we went to see the church where they are getting married in a weeks time. The church is from the year 1834 and I just can not wait to experience a wedding ceremony inside such a old traditional church. I know that is is gonna be so special!
